Lilo and Stitch Part 1

Last Christmas my Mom gave my daughter Lilo and Stitch Part 1. She thought it was going to be a nice little kids movie ~ my daughter is only 3.  I wouldn’t say that’s exactly what it is, but in the end it is a kid friendly movie.

Here’s my main concern. liloandstitchpart1

1. There is quite a bit of violence in the movie ~ shooting, blowing houses up, being dragged underwater.  Not ever parent worries about this but if you do be aware it is in there.

Here’s what I love about it:

1. It teaches that being “different” is ok ~ this lesson is taught both through Lilo and Stitch.

2. It teaches that family is forever ~ and I really like that.

3. It teaches no one ever gets left behind ~ and I really like that.

So if you can get past the creation of a monster who gets away and then big mean guys hunting him down, trying to capture and at times kill him ~ this is a really sweet movie. :)

We watched it the day my mom gave it to her. My mom was mortified, but Hanna loves it. This is one movie she keeps coming back to time and again.
